Screen Shot 2016-06-02 at 2.43.38 PMGuest host, Marion Leary, takes time to interview Setsu Shgematsu, Associate Professor in the Media and Cultural Studies Department at University of California, Riverside and creator of the childrens’ book series Guardian Princesses, along with Pavita Singh Director of Outreach.
A special fifth birthday present led to the Guardian Princesses who are heroines of a NEW BOOK SERIES. The stories transform the cultural meaning of the princesses into inspiring leaders who take action to protect the people and the planet.  They shift  focus away from  external beauty to promote a healthy self-esteem based on the development of children’s talents, knowledge about the world and taking action to help others.
